MLOps and the newer GenAIOps — getting models and generative systems into production and keeping them answerable for.
Machine learning and platform engineers who own what happens after the model works. Earns the Machine Learning Operations Engineer Associate certification.
Level: Intermediate · Official credential: Operationalizing Machine Learning and Generative AI Solutions

The operations exam for AI, and the one that exists because demos are easy and production is not. Model lifecycle and operations carry the largest share, with GenAIOps infrastructure close behind, then the MLOps platform itself. The last quarter is quality assurance, observability and optimisation — proving a system still works, and making it cheaper while it does.
Assumed knowledge: Azure experience plus real machine learning or data science background. This is not an entry point.
Why people in this role end up sitting AI-300
Everything a partner needs to put this course in front of the right customer. Lift any of it straight into a proposal.
“They have data scientists who can build models and nobody who can run them. That gap is what this course is.”
Who signs: Head of data or platform engineering lead. Often funded from an AI programme rather than training.
Who attends: Machine learning engineers, MLOps and platform engineers, and data scientists moving towards production.
And a straight answer for each
Deploying once is not operating. Retraining, drift, evaluation and cost control are where this course lives, and they are most of the exam.
Then roughly half the exam is directly yours — GenAIOps, evaluation and optimisation. Worth checking the split against their work before quoting.
No. AI-103 builds the application. This one keeps it alive, measured and affordable afterwards.
Then start with the observability half. The argument gets easier the first time one silently degrades.
We deliver the official Microsoft course for AI-300 — in person or virtual, public or in-company. Real demos, real stories, and the whiteboards to take home.
