The expert-level agent exam: architecting, building, evaluating and governing systems where several agents work together.
Senior engineers and architects building multi-agent systems on Azure. Earns the Multi-Agent AI Solutions Expert certification.
Level: Advanced · Official credential: Designing and Implementing Multi-Agent AI Solutions

The expert tier of the agent track, and a genuinely hard exam. Developing multi-agent solutions in Azure carries the largest share, framed by architecture at the start and by evaluation, optimisation, security and governance at the end. The distinguishing idea throughout is orchestration — what happens when agents delegate to each other and no single one holds the whole task.
Assumed knowledge: Strong Azure and AI development background. AI-103 or equivalent experience is the realistic entry point.
Why people in this role end up sitting AI-500
Everything a partner needs to put this course in front of the right customer. Lift any of it straight into a proposal.
“Single agents are a solved problem for them. This is the course for what happens when those agents have to work together.”
Who signs: Head of engineering or AI lead. Expert-level training with a budget to match.
Who attends: Senior engineers and architects already building agents. Not a first agent course.
And a straight answer for each
Then this is too early. Send them to AB-620 or AI-103 and come back when they have two agents that need to talk to each other.
Correct, and it is a new exam. Say so up front — Microsoft usually publishes one within a couple of months of general availability.
Often it is, and part of the architecture content is recognising that. The exam rewards knowing when not to.
No. This assumes code and Azure depth. AB-620 is the maker-level equivalent.
We deliver the official Microsoft course for AI-500 — in person or virtual, public or in-company. Real demos, real stories, and the whiteboards to take home.
